A warm welcome to CHEMPARK!
Complete beforehand
To pre-register with the site security, please contact the person responsible for the contract at CHEMPARK. The check-in form and the completion guide are available for this purpose.
Entrance
Stay
Within CHEMPARK, you should drive directly to your destination without taking any detours. The site map will help you find your way around.
The CHEMPARK traffic regulations apply on the site. Stopping and parking are only permitted in designated areas.
Once your business is completed, please exit via the nearest gate.
Exit
Check-out takes place at the gate. This is where you can return your day pass and any special passes. Due to regular checks at the exits, there may be some waiting times.
Once you have left the CHEMPARK site, we wish you a safe and pleasant journey.
See you again at CHEMPARK!
- Do you need to take materials or equipment into or out of CHEMPARK? If so, please request information on:
- Remove the client’s property from CHEMPARK
- Bringing your own materials into CHEMPARK
Remove the client’s property from CHEMPARK
If the client’s property is to be removed from CHEMPARK – for example, for repair – a fully completed and signed pass is required. This must be provided by the client.
This also applies to materials that were delivered in advance for work at CHEMPARK but have not been fully used. Scrap and cable offcuts may also only be removed from CHEMPARK with a valid pass.
Please note:
- Only official CHEMPARK access permits with a serial number are valid. A sample is shown below. Other documents, even those bearing the client’s logo or stamp, will not be accepted.
- The access permit must be presented without being asked before leaving the site. Access permits that are only shown during a check are considered a breach of the CHEMPARK regulations.
- If no valid access permit is presented, any attempt to leave the site must be treated as a possible offence against property rights and reported to the police.
Bringing your own materials into CHEMPARK
Any tools, IT equipment or materials belonging to you must be registered before entering CHEMPARK. The registration requirement applies to items with a value of approximately 500 euros or more. Mobile phones do not need to be registered.
Registration takes place directly at the gate using a tool registration form, which serves as the registration and access permit for tools, materials and IT equipment to be brought into CHEMPARK by specialist and external companies.
If only a laptop or tablet is being carried, no tool registration form is required. In this case, it is sufficient to enter the serial number in the relevant field on the check-in form.
Important:
- The tool registration form must be presented at the gate office upon leaving CHEMPARK without being asked. Without the use of security seals issued by plant security, it is valid only once. If materials are to be brought in or taken out more frequently, a security seal is required.
- Even for items not subject to registration, proof of ownership should be carried or a declaration made before entering the site. Unregistered material discovered during an inspection will be retained by plant security until ownership has been clarified.

FAQ
How often and for how long can a day pass be issued for a short assignment?
- One-day passes may be issued to the same employee for a maximum of 3 days within a year.
- This applies regardless of whether the 3 days are consecutive or are requested for completely different dates.
- Once the 3-day limit has been reached, a pass for external contractors must be applied for at the pass office.
Does the ‘3 days a year’ rule for day passes apply per site or to the whole of CHEMPARK?
- This rule applies to the whole of CHEMPARK.
What if a technician works at two sites on the same day? Does that count as one day’s allowance from the annual quota, or two?
It is always the calendar day that counts, not the location. Whether an eight-hour shift takes place on the same day, for example in Dormagen, or a total of three shifts at different locations: in the end, one (1) out of three (3) day passes is ‘used up’.
Do foreign nationals also have to present a residence permit and a work permit during identity checks?
- Anyone who is not a national of an EU or Schengen country should expect their residence permit and work permit to be checked. You should therefore always carry both with you.
- A list of EU and Schengen countries and a detailed description of the accepted identity documents can be found here: Entry requirements and process description
Does the client at CHEMPARK always have to sign the check-in form?
- A signature is only required for pre-registrations. If it is missing, the pre-registration will not be processed and no day pass will be issued. The time-saving benefit of pre-registration will not apply. Check-in is still possible, but only as a walk-in check-in.
- When checking in without a pre-registration, the person responsible for the order must verify their identity by telephone upon arrival at the gate. A signature is therefore not required. However, as check-ins with pre-registration are always processed first, this may result in longer waiting times.
Why do tools, IT equipment and materials have to be registered, and what happens if they are not registered?
- Site security is obliged to protect the property of the companies at CHEMPARK.
- Consequently, tools, IT equipment and materials may only be removed from CHEMPARK if it has been established beyond doubt that they are not the property of a company at CHEMPARK. (Exception: The company within CHEMPARK authorises the removal of its property in writing by issuing its own exit permit.)
- Proving, for example, that a particular tool is not the property of a company within CHEMPARK is much more complicated after the event than simply declaring the items before entering the site. The process is time-consuming and leads to delays at the exit. If the matter cannot be clarified promptly, undeclared items will remain with plant security until ownership has been established.
How does the re-use of the tool registration certificate with security seals work?
- Security seals are available at the gate. Plant security issues a separate seal for each item listed on the tool registration form and enters the number on the list on the form.
- The contractor’s employee attaches the security seals to the relevant item and then drives up to the barrier.
- Plant security checks that the security seals have been correctly affixed and matched to the correct items, then signs, stamps and photocopies the tool registration form. They then hand over the original.
- The signed and stamped tool registration form can then be reused the next time, together with the seals. It is no longer necessary to re-register the tools listed on the form and fitted with seals.
Do smartphones from other manufacturers need a security seal?
No. Even if the threshold of 500 EUR is exceeded, smartphones are exempt from the registration requirement.
Can security seals be issued in advance to speed up the process at the gate?
- Security seals are only issued at the gate in accordance with the number of items listed on the tool registration form.
- The correct affixing and allocation must be checked on site and documented by the plant security team with a signature and stamp.
Do the security seals apply only to the site where they were issued, or to the whole of CHEMPARK?
- For the entire CHEMPARK, including all three sites.
Can the security seals be removed without leaving any residue on the tool?
Yes. The seals can be removed without leaving any residue, but not without being destroyed or damaged in the process. They cannot, therefore, be reused.
Do spare parts intended for installation at a CHEMPARK facility require a security seal upon entry?
No. A delivery note is sufficient for everything that remains at CHEMPARK.
In what circumstances are you allowed to drive your vehicle into CHEMPARK?
Vehicles are not permitted to enter – except for delivery and collection vehicles – but entry is possible in justified exceptional cases:
- if external contractors need to bring heavy or bulky tools or materials for use within the CHEMPARK (tool registration form required!).
- if external contractors need to remove heavy or bulky tools or equipment from the CHEMPARK, e.g. for repair purposes (access permit for operational purposes required!).
- For external contractor staff entering the site with a day pass, the reason must be stated on the check-in form and verified.
Are external companies that have themselves rented space, warehouses or office premises at CHEMPARK permitted to sign check-in pre-registration forms?
- External companies operating on behalf of a company within CHEMPARK are not authorised to grant access to employees of a subcontractor.
- Only the person responsible for the contract at the CHEMPARK company that originally awarded the contract to the external company – which in turn has engaged a subcontractor – is authorised to grant access to employees of that subcontractor.
- Subcontractors must never carry out work at CHEMPARK without the knowledge and authorisation of a company permanently based at CHEMPARK (‘CHEMPARK partner’ or ‘CHEMPARK service partner’).
What is meant by ‘data controller of the CHEMPARK partner’?
- The contract manager is the person within a CHEMPARK plant who is responsible for the contract with an external company.
- The contract manager authorises access to CHEMPARK for employees of an external company: by signing pre-registration forms or by giving verbal authorisation during a telephone call with plant security. They also determine the need for special authorisations and approve the issue of permanent CHEMPARK access cards for external contractor staff.
- The contract manager is authorised within their company’s organisation to sign off on and authorise access for external contractors. This is not linked to any specific job title.
Is a film about the rules of conduct at CHEMPARK shown at the entrance gates and in the ID office?
- However, a brief safety briefing is held, during which the site security team draws attention to the most important safety and conduct rules, as well as the CHEMPARK traffic regulations.
- The safety information is provided in writing and is available in 20 foreign languages.
- A video on the safety briefing is also available online.
